The bottom-most panel on your screen is the command window. This lets you select files, programs, and sub-folders which will then be opened on the Content Panel or the command panel.
The left-most panel on your screen is the Directory (dir) Panel. This lists the folders in the system along with their non-hidden subfolders. Clicking on one will open it's list of files, programs, and folders in the Command Panel.
